Traditional Bedfordshire Lace - Barbara Underwood

The book is based on the author's extensive teaching experience and research into authentic traditional methods of Bedfordshire lace making.  It is intended as a handbook for students of all abilities.

The text sets out the techniques and shows how to apply them to different parts of the pattern.  Where appropriate alternative methods are given and fine lace photographs with enlargements are used to illustrate the designs and methods of working.  The lace ranges from small motifs to fine edgings, elaborate collars and other dress accessories.

Over a hundred working diagrams are included as well as prickings for all the lace illustrated.
